Fixed Inspection Service: due every 10,000 miles or 12 months (whichever comes soonest). This is ideally suited to around town drivers. Flexible Long Life Service: longer service intervals determined by driving conditions. The service indicator will illuminate when a service is due. The mileage intervals will therefore vary but will not exceed 18,000 miles or 2 years (whichever comes soonest). DSG Gearbox: renewal of the transmission oil and filter is due every 40,000 miles. Manufacturer’s diagnostic equipment plus Autologic and Bosch to allow us full coverage and provide accurate, cost effective diagnosis. Brake fluid should be renewed every two years. Air conditioning should be serviced every two years as odours can build up in the system and it also needs cleansing and checking that it is working effectively. Common Faults with Audi Cars
A4 & A6 automatic gearbox fault: the PRNDS (gear selection indicators) lights start to flash on the gear change and the gearbox goes into safe mode (limiting power). Remedy: very often a fault with the multi-tronic gearbox control unit (bolted to the gearbox). Re-manufactured units are available. A3 1.9 and 2.0 tdi engine: suffer with intermittent non-starter faults developing to permanent non-starter. Remedy: common fault with the engine management ECU. A4 instrument cluster fault (centre display) loss of display or inaccurate gauges: cluster replacement required. Various Models: ABS light comes on but there is no communication with the ABS system via the diagnostic software. Remedy: fault with the ABS control module. TT instrument cluster incorrect fuel gauge reading and/or temperature gauge: dash cluster requires replacement. DSG Gearbox fault light on: common fault with DSG control unit (bolted to the gearbox). Petrol Models: hard to start, bad fuel consumption and driveability faults. Engine management light will sometimes illuminate and the fault is the coolant temperature sensor giving incorrect temperature readings. Convertible Roof Faults : Usually easily rectified. |
