Free re-test if your campervan or motorhome fails.
The free re-test is offered within 10 working days.

Contact us to book an MOT appointment.

We have two fully-automated test lanes to accommodate campervans and motor homes. MOTs take between 45 minutes and 1 hour. We have a pleasant seating area with viewing bays so you can watch your vehicle being MOT'd.

Note that you can present your vehicle for MOT up to 1 calendar month before it is due to expire and your MOT expiry date will be extended (added on to) the end of your existing MOT. Taking this approach will give you time to have the vehicle repaired should it be necessary. It's not recommended to leave your MOT until it has almost reached expiry as it is illegal to drive your vehicle without a valid MOT.
National guarantee from Bosch
Regular servicing and maintenance of your motorhome is key to having a stress free holiday.  For absolute peace of mind our work is covered by a national guarantee from Bosch, so wherever you are on your travels, in the unlikely event that your vehicle develops a problem, you can go straight to the nearest Bosch Car Service garage who will be happy to assist.

NB: guarantee is 12000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes soonest.

MOT repairs after a failed MOT
Should your car fail the MOT test we can repair it on site, usually at the same time subject to parts availability, thus avoiding the need for you to return for a re-test. See below for the type of MOT you require.

We offer a re-test of your vehicle free of charge within 10 working days should you wish to repair it elsewhere.
Check your vehicle's MOT history and status online
To check your vehicle's MOT history and status online you will need the vehicle's registration number.

You will also need the MOT test number from the latest MOT pass (VT20) or refusal (VT30) certificate. If you don't have the latest MOT certificate you can use the vehicle reference number which is located on the registration certificate (V5C).

MOT Q&A
My MOT ran out yesterday, I have a test booked, can I still drive my car? NO! The only time you can drive without an MOT is when you are traveliing to or from a pre-booked MOT test. But don't worry, we normally have some MOT slots free so drop us a line and get one booked ASAP!

Help, I've lost my MOT Certificate!
Don't panic, we can reprint it for you! If you had your MOT done at another garage you will need to bring your vehcile's registration document (V5C).

MOT Certificates, Advisory Notes and Failure Sheets
The way that the MOT test works in England, Scotland and Wales changes on 20 May 2018.

Issues found during the MOT are either:
  • dangerous - should not be driver until repaired.
  • major - must be fixed immediately.
  • minor - must be repaired as soon as possible.
  • advisories - monitor and fix if necessary
  • pass - meets minimum legal standard.
The category we give each tested item depends on the type and seriousness of the problem. We will offer guidance about "advisories".

All issues are listed either on the pass certificate (if the vehicle has passed the test but with some advisory items to note) or on the failure sheet (if the vehicle has failed the test and there are also some advisory items).

If an item has been recorded as an advisory item it does not have to be rectified in order to pass the mot.  However, it is good practice to consult your garage’s advice regarding a future repair.  Sometimes, it is sufficient to just get it checked in a few months but in other cases replacing a small part before it leads to a bigger, more expensive repair may be prudent.

There are also stricter rules on diesel emissions, changes to what we test and some improvements to the clarity of the MOT certificate, and changes for classic cars. You can read more about the changes here.
