Citroen Service Schedules
Citroen service schedules can be very confusing since there are often multiple different schedules for the same model of vehicle, according to engine type and year of manufacture.  Therefore, it is very important to consult your service book to ascertain the correct interval for your vehicle.  Alternatively, give us a call if you would like some friendly assistance. 
 
All of the service schedules are based on either time or mileage: whichever comes soonest. Please see below for some examples: 
Note: The 1.6 diesel models have shorter distance service intervals due to turbo related problems.
 
Service intervals for more recent models (2014 onwards) of both petrol and diesel engines often have the same recommended intervals of 16,000 miles/1year.
 
​C1 petrol: range from 10,000 miles/1 year to 16,000 miles/1 year
C1 diesel: 20,000 miles/2 years
 
C3 petrol models: range from 12,500 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/2 years
C3 diesel models: range from 12,500 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/2 years.
 
C3 Picasso petrol models: range from 20,000 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/2 years
C3 Picasso diesel models: range from 12,500 miles/1 year to 12,500 miles/2 years
 
C4 Picasso petrol models: 12,500 miles/2 years to 20,000 miles/2 years
C4 Picasso diesel models: 12,500 miles/1year to 20,000 miles/2 years
 
C4 petrol & diesel models: 12,500 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/2 years
 
C4 Cactus petrol & diesel models: 16,000 miles/1 year
 
DS3 petrol models: 12,500 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/2 years
DS3 diesel models: 12,500 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/1 year
 
DS4 petrol models: 20,000 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/2 years

Berlingo petrol models: 20,000 miles/1 year to 20,000 miles/2 years
Berlingo diesel models: 12,500 miles/1 or 2 years to 16,000 miles/1 year
 
Relay petrol models: 20,000 miles/1 year
Relay earlier diesel models: 12,500 miles/1 year to 20,000/1 year
Relay later diesel models: 12,500 miles/1 year to 30,000 miles/2 years.
 
As with all modern diesel engines, the latest Citroen models have a particulate system which adds a cleaning agent to the particulate filter located in the exhaust system.  When the fluid becomes low, the driver will be alerted via a dash warning message.  The fluid will need to be re-filled, the counter re-set and any faults in the engine management ECU will need to be cleared/rectified.  In most cases, a regeneration will need to be performed.  However, this will not be possible unless all faults in the engine management ECU have been cleared prior to carrying out this function.

​If your vehicle has two yearly service schedules, Citroen recommend an interim service alternate years to include an oil and filter change.
 
Brake fluid should be renewed every two years.
 
Air conditioning should be serviced every two years as the gas dissipates over time.  However, it is not just a case of topping up the gas, since a service checks that the system is working effectively and that there are no leaks.  To eliminate odours, the pollen filter should be replaced regularly (at least once every two years).

Common Citroen Problems
Most common problems with Citroen Cars:
  1. Poor battery causing diagnostic faults
  2. Tyre pressure sensor fault.
  3. Jump starting car: causes computer fault.
  4. Convertible roof faults.
  5. Cheap code readers: are often misleading. Multi-make diagnostic equipment is quite often unable to accurately and quickly diagnose the fault and can create complications.
  6. Dispatch: non-starter fault after rear doors have been opened and closed or o/s/r lamp bulb has been renewed.  Remedy: o/s/r door loom is damaged and requires repair.
  7. Relay: non-starter fault: does not turn over.  Remedy: renew in-line 150amp fuse located by battery.

Got a problem with you car? We have invested in the latest French car manufacturer diagnostic software and systems. We do not rely on cheaper non-manufacturer specific diagnostic systems. We also have Bosch and Autologic diagnostic equipment which gives us even more capability to diagnose faults.

Our technical staff have their own individual training plan. Training is carried out by Bosch and in addition specialist training at Citroen as and when required. (e.g. When new technologies are introduced.)

We can therefore diagnose and solve faults much more quickly and cost effectively.
